Barcodes Empower Your Money

Love your country!  Where you choose to spend your money empowers you. Money is a form of energy and therefore it is part of our personal power, even though it might only be 50 cents.  Choose to spend your money wisely!  Where possible, buy locally from your neighborhood, then from your province, then from your country.  That’s called being a responsible shopper.  If we are ever going to get on top of this environmental mess we are in, we each need to play a role and be a responsible shopper.  Instead of trucks, boats and planes hauling our purchases from all over the world, buy locally where possible.  Buy in season for fruits and veggies so things are not shipped from thousands of miles away.  Better yet, grow your own food then can it or freeze it.  At the very least support your farmer’s markets, especially those who choose to grow organically which protects the earth even further and reduces earth and air pollution.

This information regarding UPC or barcodes link below the is going around the internet.  When I checked with Snoopes.Com, I found out that it is inaccurate. appears that China ships things to a country and where it is assembled that is what goes on the barcode.  See the link above.

From barcode standards, here is the most accurate I could find.  Please do your homework, as this concerns you!

It certainly is something I think is worthy for each of us to check out for ourselves.  Certainly you will want to know this if you are buying food products and kids’ toys especially!

Your money empowers you.  As a consumer you get to choose which country you want to support.  Please choose wisely!  The Power of One!
